SAFE-SHEET, LLC is a family operated
Limited Liability Company, with operations in Phoenix, Arizona
and Durango, Colorado. Our company designs and manufactures
custom, material protection attachments for all types of forklift
trucks.
At SAFE-SHEET, LLC
our goal is to provide our customers with a reliable and effective
solution for preventing damage to cargo/inventory/materials
while being handled with a forklift truck. We design and manufacture
a customized "shield" that attaches to the vertical portion
of your forklift. We can achieve this without modifying or drilling
your equipment. We offer removable, as well as semi-permanent
units to fit your company‚s needs. The sole purpose of this
"shield"is to provide a barrier between finished products and
the damaging components of a fork lift mast without, compromising
the operators view. We offer our products in two types of material:
1) high strength plastic or 2) rigid aluminum. The plastic material
is the same type of material that is used in modern police vehicles
to provide a barrier between an officer and rear passenger.
also used for windshields in racecars. The material is virtually
unbreakable and will retain its formed shape even when bent.
The first prototype was designed in the fall of 2000 and during
that time we were in the metal fabrication industry. SAFE-SHEET,
LLC was established in September 2001 and a
registered patent was applied for in May 2001. Patent # 6,902,039
was granted on July 2005.
Being in the metal fabrication business, a representative for
a national building supply company contacted us by referral. We
were told that local stores were experiencing a high rate of
damaged wall board due to the use of their forklifts. We were
asked to remedy the problem. After accepting the challenge we
were introduced to the Building Supplies Manager, who showed
us large stacks of wallboard that were damaged by the vertical
portion of the forklift forks and the steel mast. Measurements,
model type and numbers were recorded. We were then told that
the prototype should be removable and, with that ruled out using
a steel plate due to the weight factor. Within days a light
weight aluminum prototype was designed and built, with handles
for easy on and off placement. It was determined that the operator
would need to see through the "shield" in order to load/unload
cargo, at that point windows were cut out so that when the forks
are either elevated or lowered to floor level an operator can
clearly see the tips of the forks. The prototype was then tested.
The regional store managers and local managers were so pleased
with the product that 29 stores in Arizona were equipped with
our attachment within 60 days.
Thrilled with the durability of our attachments SAFE-SHEET,
LLC set forth to create an even better product and
researched other materials to incorporate into our designs.
With weight, durability and operator safety being our top objectives,
we started to research and found a clear plastic material that
accomplished these goals. We now offer both a rigid aluminum
and a high strength plastic for all models. Our products
prevent damage to: wallboard, sheet metals, tile board, paneling,
foam products, finished woods, acoustical materials, glass and
many other fragile items. Check out our web site to see a live demo!
